Pros

Health benefits are outstanding with no premiums. The wellness program is a great benefit to help reduce health care costs. 401k match is a plus.

Cons

Management is run by underqualified employees. Progression in the company depends on years of service, not your performance. Pathetic structure.

Advice to Management

Reward the hard working individuals and set realistic expectations. If the company's rigid structure has to be altered to allow for the right people to progress, then do it. There are many highly talented and devoted individuals who are not receiving the right support or placement within the company. On the contrary, there are many individuals who are not qualified for their positions who are a roadblock for the more talented and skilled individuals. These are the individuals who have been around long enough, who are resistant to change, and are impeding many potential candidates who could better the company.

I have been working at Subaru of Indiana Automotive full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent benefits
    - No healthcare premiums
    - On-site clinic
    - Employee rec center with personal trainers
Overtime (even for some salaried positions)

    Cons

All employees are seen as line-workers (doesn't always fit with office employees)
    Training can be rather inconsistent
Japanese mindset can take some getting used to for Americans
Like any big company things can more slowly

    Advice to Management

Do more to empower the people at the bottom rungs. You give them and their families great benefits and although that may "buy" their loyalty it isn't genuine, they need to feel that they are effective and empowered.

I worked at Subaru of Indiana Automotive full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The Benefits are Free. They have a cafeteria

    Cons

They will not listen when you say you need to do a different job and let you continue to struggle.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, instead of ridicule maybe as the slogan "Put a little Love in your heart" could be practiced. People are not machines.
