Pros

Its a large multinational bank with great reach.

Cons

Your experience working for the bank depends on which group you are working for. Some groups overwork you without any benefits beyond what others who don't work nearly as hard get too. In the groups that work you hard the words work and life are never in the same sentence.

Advice to Management

Overworking people only makes them leave.

I worked at Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Small, close-knit shop which focused on corporate lending and project finance. Very little politics. People very supportive. Lots of long-time employees

    Cons

A fairly small office, so there is not as much room for advancement. However, you get to see deals from beginning to end and are able to get fully involved.

    Advice to Management

Need to provide opportunities to grow, as employees will be more motivated to see that their work will be properly rewarded and that there are growth opportunities.
