Pros

The company is doing well and VALIC is a great learning environment to begin one's career in.

Cons

People are older so if you are young, you might feel a little out of place.

    Pros

They give you a book of business with plenty of opportunity to earn a good living. They also allow a great deal of independence (most advisers work from home).

    Cons

They give you a "training allowance" to help with income until you begin to write business. After that, its feast or famine.

    Advice to Management

Not sure I have any advice for management. They do a good job in managing expectations, providing support, and communicating important information.

  2. Helpful (1)

"I enjoyed my job until AIG went south. Since then, sales goals have doubled. If you're not on track, you're let go."

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Income potential. Access to clients/ prospects. Reputation

    Cons

Connected/ owned by AIG. Senior management using questionable tactics to help Financial Advisors meet sales goals. Goals have doubled. Disrespecting Financial Advisors that have been here for 20 years and still productive. Yet, they want a "new" brand of Financial Advisors

    Advice to Management

Find a better way to motivate employees rather than give out pink slips and taking away assets from productive, intelligent, and motivated Financial Advisors
