No opinion of CEO

Pros

If you are a coding monkey, work there ....and you get free soda and coffe. They will take you once a year to have fun in Hersey Park...

Cons

almost no knowledge sharing is promoted, feels like a secret society. Nobody, is interested if you are trying to suggest better ways to accomplish things. If you happen to try to introduce a new technology and approches and they happen not to understand it (to advanced for them , maybe) , you will be told to learn basics....

Advice to Management

treat your people with respect....
and listen if somebody is trying to make suggestion which could save you $17 millions ....no big amount I guess.

    Pros

Gain great work experience and changeling jobs. You can learn a lot but can also work very hard. Some positions require a lot of travel and bosses don't always take that into consideration.

    Cons

Management quick to lay off to make numbers and get their bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Take good care of you loyal and good people.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Decent benefits. However, the work environment varies drastically depending on which division you are in. If you are lucky, you can work with hard working, highly skilled people. SunGard is large and hence there are opportunities to advance if you are willing to look beyond your own unit.

    Cons

Too quick to layoff in order to make their numbers. Consolidation and layoffs are eliminating many solid employees, leaving those left overworked and overstretched. Consolidation is happening faster than remaining employees can obtain the skills and industry/product knowledge to cover new tasks.

    Advice to Management

Senior management at the division level needs to better understand the business model of the products under them. While standard practices can lead to some efficiencies, remember that an acquired company was doing something right prior to acquisition.
