    Pros

The benefits provided by SunTrust were very good
Senior Managers who were able to stick around long enough were very good to work for; however, many were not able to make it

    Cons

SunTrust is a very centralized bank. All decisions are made from Atlanta and the regions must follow them. The centralized model does not allow for the regions to adjust for their own market conditions to maximize revenues. Turnover seems to be high, even in the senior manager roles. There is a strict focus on performance in the short-term (what have you done for me lately attitude). When performance measurements are not met in the short-term, written notice is given to the employee. It's all about production and not about maximizing revenue. Short-term performance is the norm.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employee base. Not all strategies must come from Atlanta.
