I have been working at SunTrust full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Family oriented, "banker's hours", worked close to home

Cons

Bounced back and forth like a ping pong ball in new position created by bank. Dress code archaic.

Advice to Management

Listen to what people - clients AND employees - really need in a bank. Stop trying to be like Bank of America or Wells Fargo.

    Pros

    Good Salaries, Cost of Living Increases

    Cons

    Very poor PC/Laptop support - many issues with basic software like MS Office, IE.
    Poor IT Management - focused only on schedule, and not at all on quality.
    High level of outsourcing - many onshore contractors with no incentive to produce long-term quality deliverables.
    Lack of documentation, especially for Cobol systems.

    Advice to Management

    Increase business trust with more credible applications that actually work well longer than 6 months.
    Quit spreading work out to so many different vendors for production support - 4 different vendors just to get a laptop fixed is ridiculous.
    Develop business knowledge in-house with employees, rather than considering employees interchangeable with cheaper offshore personnel.

    I worked at SunTrust full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Absolutely nothing. SunTrust was once a great hybrid of community and corporate (much like Wachovia)... now the company has gone full corporate retard.

    Cons

    -Upper management in the Tampa Bay area has been replaced by BoA and Wells Fargo clones.
    -Monthly cash commission system was stripped in 2013 and replaced by a bogus quarterly point system that is unattainable in 90% of the branches.
    -Cold calling... PBs & CSSs are essentially glorified telemarketers with 10 times the responsibility.

    Advice to Management

    Hah... like they even care.
