Pros

Sundance gives the opportunity to reach new positions. Team is usually friendly and willing to help; good relationship within departments. Beautiful place to work; the view, mountains, and nature. Started with good benefits.

Cons

Benefits were cut over time. Pay rates raises for employees were frozen for numerous years. Need a reliable car during winter and if avalanches occurr be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours in your time over there. Employees are asked to work with minimum resources, as many of tools are not provided due to budget concerns.

I worked at Sundance Resort (More than a year)

    Pros

90% of the people I worked with were great people. My manager was excellent, always standing up for her employees to upper management and unruly customers. The lift pass is obviously the best perk of the job, as well as the discounts at the other facilities.

    Cons

Upper management was, at times, unrealistic and ridiculous in what they expect and request of their employees. For example, when employee reviews happen, no one can get a perfect score on any skill because, according to them, there is always room for improvement. Also, since it was mostly a dead-end job to have while in college, coworkers don't always make it a priority, so switching shifts with someone can get frustrating when they decide to bail on you.

    Advice to Management

Try doing the jobs of everyone under you. You'll get a better idea of what the resort actually needs and what it's doing well.
