Pros

You can realistically make 100k if you work hard every day which includes making lots of cold calls & working evenings.

Cons

The hardest part of a sales job typically is making a sale. It is hard to sell advertising but Supermedia makes it very hard to do almost anything. They will make you document every cold call, walk in, customer presentation you make. A sales rep is given so much administrative stuff to do that its hard to find time to cold call. If you want to be successfull you'll need to work long hours to accomplish all the admin tasks they give you along with making sales. You always feel like you're in trouble & in a lot of cases you are. Not a fun place to work & going downhill quickly as most of the company is tied up in the print yellow pages.

Advice to Management

Listen to top reps because a lot of things upper management comes up with doesn't make sense & a top rep would tell you exactly that.

    Pros

Pay and new products beng unveiled.

    Cons

Fulfillment of products sold in a timely manner.

    Advice to Management

Management seems to change focus too frequently about how to growth the business. This confuses the sales force as to what is important.

    Pros

Family friendly, benefits are OK, comp was OK. Direct supervisors are fair and up front with employees. Fitness center at DFW location makes working out easy.

    Cons

Total lack of communications between Sr. Management and front-line employees. No vision, no plan. Still relying on Yellow Pages to carry the company. Have missed numerous opportunities to capitalize on great new online products. Failed every time.

    Advice to Management

Get outside the box! Look beyond Yellow Pages, or simply waiting on someone to come buy the company. COMMUNICATE with employees and most importantly listen when they try to bring new ideas.
