I worked at Supermedia full-time (More than a year)

Pros

A very few "Long term employees" to help when needed.

Cons

Local management more concerned about themselves and how THEY look to upper management vs. helping there staff.

Advice to Management

Replace your local/regional management teams...very stale ideas and have no intention of keeping new employees.

    I have been working at Supermedia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    (1) Intense initial sales training (8 weeks). This is the place to learn: how to sell, the selling process and to fine-hone your selling skills. If you can sell at this company for at least 6 months, you can sell successfully in any industry.
    (2) Unbelievable product portfolio. Probably one of the best in the industry
    (3) Great place to get your feet wet in sales.
    (4) If you can survive at least 1 year, you will start to inherit higher $$$ accounts as a result of turnover

    Cons

    (1) Bizarre management styles
    (2) Not forthcoming during hiring process
    (3) Constant threats of termination
    (4) Unrealistic goal setting
    (5) Very, very low team morale
    (5) Not a place to build a career

    Advice to Management

    At this time, this is a "stop-over" type of company with great products and sales training. Quality reps with serious career interests will work here for a short period of time to develop strong selling skills and afterwards, move on to a stronger structured organization. However, for retention purposes, try hiring recent college grads. They appreciate having a job, you can tell them anything, offer them the current low base salaries and you can run them into the ground.

    I have been working at Supermedia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    I worked under some extremely friendly and helpful management.
    The potential commission that can be made is incredibly high.

    Cons

    The digital media products that I was trying to sell were not necessarily things that consumers saw value in, therefore making it an extremely hard sell. I was also an outside sales rep, so there was a great deal of face-to-face rejection.

    Advice to Management

    Reconsider product portfolio
