I worked at Swatch full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Large company with many brands. Good benefits. International travel.
I learned a lot, but only due to my desire to do so. It is easy to get lost in the mix and get by on the minimum effort.

Cons

Too much red tape and lack of integrity. Disconnect between headquarters in Switzerland and US office. Poor work - life balance.

I have been working at Swatch full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Big company
    50% of watches
    Some or no labor
    Hours are ok

    Cons

Head of retail leads by fear
    DM' s are constantly changing
You are required to work 3 weekends out of the month if you are an SM; forget about asking for a holiday off with your family
If you change a visual display, you will be crucified. You are required to send pics to a visual manager.
    Way to much micromanaging.
Time to sell program is a joke. How about they get their butts down from corporate and do some selling.
    No employee appraisals.
If you get promoted from part time to full time you will not get an increase. Head of retail claims its a lateral change.
God forbid you have to call corporate for help. You will be serviced by overworked, stressed individuals, such as operation manager A, payroll and worst of all head of retail.

    Advice to Management

My advice is to change upper management. They really need a change ASAP. Do not lead by threats and fear and create a culture of motivation and inspiration.
