"Decent place to work but no career path"

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

    - Nice people to work with (mostly)
    - Good benefits package
    - Competitive salary
    - Good office location and setup

    Cons

    - Senior managers made up of an old boy's club (most 15-20+ years, hard to break in)
    - Stagnant career paths, little opportunity for advancement
    - Rigid command and control structure, no manager autonomy
    - All decisions go all the way up to the CEO in US, including hiring, very slow decision-making process
    - Little flexibility in work arrangements (little in the way of flexible work hours, no telecommuting, period)

    Advice to Management

    - Allow your managers and engineers to contribute to the decision-making process, loosen up the controls (within reason) to allow for innovation and new ways of doing things.
    - Push decision-making to the lowest level to free up senior managers to focus on vision and longer-term plans
    - Have a clearly articulated vision and mission statement so all areas can align properly and develop plans to map to the vision
    - Provide flexible work environment to attract and retain best and brightest.
    - Managers should provide support for people to do their work, not just be enforcers.
    - Develop meaningful career paths for all departments
    - Hire a more diverse workforce (more women, more visible minorities)
    - Bring in some new blood to senior management...perhaps hire externally...senior managers are too cozy

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Opportunity to work on some of the hot and interesting projects
    Good working environment

    Cons

    fear based culture.
rewords are for the management not for the ones who do the real work
    too many meetings

    Advice to Management

thin the middle manager layer - many of them slow down the process.
