    Pros

Work/life balance and training opportunities. My management chain is wonderful, clear up to the VP level and I feel respected and valued every day.

    Cons

Typical Enterprise environment where there is not a lot of creativity and things move slow. Not a place for a startup kind of person.

Also, executive management is exceptionally poor. Some examples: they call themselves innovative yet buy innovation through poorly thought-out M&As that sometimes backfire; they focus on short-term operational efficiencies at the expense of long-term customer retention on both the Norton and Enterprise-side.

    Advice to Management

Think less about this quarter's margin on some investor report and more about how to retain long-term customers. Ask yourselves and ask your employees--are these products you are proud to stand behind or not? When you go to a party--do users of your products come and ask you why they are unable to uninstall their Norton product, why we charge $99 for removing viruses we didn't catch, or, on the enterprise side, why nothing has been done with the embarrassing licensing and activation nightmare experience? Listen to your customers!

    Pros

Resources at your disposal are great - you can get access to any information and any equipment you need. Compensation and benefits packages are great. The environment is extremely diverse and multicultural. Due to many acquisitions there's a lot of energetic people driving products. Width of product coverage means you can find the area you like the most - and could be most efficient in.

    Cons

As with most large companies its hard do change the direction. That could lead to frustration among startup style people. Retaining talent could be a problem - especially with exteremely cumbersome budgeting process - but thats typical for large companies as well.

    Advice to Management

    Better communication on technology strategy
