I have been working at Symcor full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Ability to work from home
Excellent salaries
Good benefits
RRSP matched at 150%
Many opportunities for advancement
Good friendly people

Cons

Cheque processing and statement print and mail are a dying business
They tend to hold onto stagnant bad employees. It's very difficult to get fired from Symcor when bad apples have poor work performance.

Advice to Management

Adapt more to the changing marketplace

I worked at Symcor full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Excellent, knowledgable resources
    Good working condtions
    Ececutive support

    Cons

Bad executive decisions in the past lad to downsizing
Too lean an organization now and unable to take on multiple high priority concurrent projects.
    Lack of direction and transparency

    Advice to Management

Hire more technical staff. Train them well in order to retain them. Customers will be happier if you can deliver more projects, with high quality faster and you won't 'burn out' your high value resources.

Be more forthcoming with business direction. Let the employees know what is being considered and plannaed as it often affects their livelihood and morale.
