Pros

The people and culture are great. There has been a distinct change over the last 2 years in corporate culture and operations that has resulted in a change in talent and vision of employees for the better. The company is creating a solid credit and pricing cultural that has improved core operations and increased profitability.

Highly recommended as a workplace if you are in the middle phase of your career and are ready for a long term commitment to a company.

Cons

Training/development is lacking in consistency and quality across affiliates.

There is still a good ol' boy mentality to the bank that may create a glass ceiling at the company not due to age, sex or religion, but because of differing personality and values. You should enjoy hunting, fishing, and ATV's if you want to have similar hobbies as upper management.

Advice to Management

The company needs to concentrate on offering more competitive retail products in order to increase the portfolio size and help dilute CRE concentrations.

    Pros

The people and culture are great. Salary is okay, and salary increases are regular and almost automatic. Incentive plans are attainable.

    Cons

Training/development lacking. Sometimes seems disorganized. Poor job of recruitment real talent, many new hires are simply unproductive and as a result don't last long.

    Advice to Management

Synovus banks should all be brought under one charter and brand name if the bank is to achieve its goal of becoming the premiere bank in the Southeast. Also, do a better job of recruiting production team members & hold them accountable for results. Seems like most of their guys just BS their way in the door, then do not produce results.
