Pros

Nice office, location, parking, benefits. Don't tend to micro-manage which is nice. Flexible hours, scheduling. Can work from home if need be.

Cons

A little office politics, would like to be paid more comparing to what compeitiors offer.

Advice to Management

More holidays (day after thanksgiving, Xmas eve, floating holiday), no soliciting emails from HR (cruises, better health lifestyle websites), and higher pay.

    Pros

Smart, talented workforce that's focused on supporting the customer. Team atmosphere.

    Cons

Only six holidays and paper timecards

    Advice to Management

Two more holidays would make a big difference

    Pros

There is a great mix of motivated and intelligent people working on a huge diversity of interesting and challenging problems.

    Cons

One's work is beholden to the vagaries of government research programs: program managers come and go; programs live and die; administrations get elected; congress adds its seasoning--together they make for a chaotic work environment.

    Advice to Management

Modernize methods for payroll accounting and time sheets. It makes no sense for some of the highest tech employees to be beholden to a paper time card--especially if you are traveling cross country for your client: the paper time card must be filled in and submitted each Monday at 9 am.
