Pros

- Best benefits I have ever seen
- Very flexible with scheduling, good work-life balance
- Rewarding job with regards to constant learning, helping customers, and employee perks such as a cheap phone bill and discounts on phones

Cons

- If you are in a low-volume location, or in a bad credit-demographic location, commission checks are absolutely pitiful, which is the bread and butter of how much you can really earn
- Negativity can spread quickly throughout your own team, and the whole market as well, and it is important to maintain a positive attitude especially in the eyes of top management
- Market Managers can sometimes form good 'ol boy networks with certain store managers, which can limit movement and growth potential to the point where it is almost crippling to some reps

Advice to Management

My real advice goes to C-Level management, they seem pretty out of touch at times when it comes to understanding the perspective of the front line employee. Very often I have seen changes implemented that just flat out dont work, do not function, or inhibit efficiency at the selling level. But I do understand the difficulties involved with communicating up and down the chain, plus the new CEO seems like he is trying to regain touch with the frontlines.

    Pros

    Great benefits, friendly non-executive Managers

    Cons

    * very difficult to get promoted
    * way too much micro-management these last couple years.
    * way too many incompetent engineers and project managers
    * Sr. Mgt keeps changing the company goals; and adjusting blue chip numbers, which in turn negatively impact employee bonuses.
    * Merit increases have not at all matched cost of living increases in San Francisco Bay Area... San Fran Mkt Techs are all grossly underpaid and our bonuses have pretty much disappeared these last couple years; although we may actually get one later this month (August 2010)

    Advice to Management

T-Mobile seemed like a great place to work 5 years ago, but it's gone downhill (vertical drop!) since around 2008 :-(

Please give us more money. Please promote employee's deserving of promotion. Please reprimand employee's who are unable to perform their job.

Please make us feel like we are NOT somebody whom you will work like a slave, give no raises or promotions, forcing us to quit; only to be replaced by a recent tech school graduate for a fraction of our salary, and then work them like a slave until they quit, etc etc etc.
