Pros

Having worked at other financial institutions, I find TD has the best work-place culture which is impressive considering it's size. People are treated with respect. HR is real there. Opportunities for advancement are plenty. Most are not over-worked as the right amount of people are hired to get things done.

Cons

A little bit cliquey. Many promotions are based on who you know rather than what you do which isn't a good thing. Knowledge level becomes limited to few key individuals as a result. A little concerned with the impending departure of Ed Clark and how corporate culture might change after he retires and new mgmt takes hold.

Advice to Management

Promote based on knowledge + management skills and not just on politics alone. Doing otherwise will slowly erode the company.

    Flexible hours
    Good people
    Unique culture
    Challenging and satisfying work
    They listen to their employees

    Cons

Some people don't carry their weight
Need to depend on several teams to accomplish a simple task
The odd clueless Project Manager can ruin your day (everywhere)
Cafe food is expensive and portions and quality are questionable :)

    Advice to Management

TMAP was an excellent concept but it's being executed horribly. It's going to take a very long time to recover from this misstep by Joe Monk.

    Pros

some very nice coworkers and some good benefits

    Cons

No communication with employees, managers with experience are gone now and we have nobody to go to that cares or can help us. Senior manager and team leaders gossip about employees and treat adults like children. Ashame because customers are holding on the phones for long periods of time and we can't really help them like we used to. Discouraging. Computer system is very outdated and takes forever to get anything done.

    Advice to Management

Try to get some of the people back who knew what to do and how to help employees and customers. Stop worrying about surveys so much because we can't force customers to complete them after they have been holding so long. The customers are angry and we kind of can't blame them. Very frustrated.
