Pros

One of the bet reasons to work at TD is the because of the great overall reputation that they have in the community, economic markets and financial institutions. They value diversity amongst staff and customers, and put their money behind it to a degree.

Cons

Because of the standards and opportunities at TD, team mangers seem to change quite often, meaning you have to prove yourself to a new manger again if you want to achieve your career goals.

Advice to Management

It is really challenging to work with mangers who you are not sure you can trust. Transparency is key if you will be leading people. These are other people's lives and careers which have been entrusted to you. Yes there are some ups and downs of being a manger, however with great power comes great responsibility!

    Pros

You will become very familiar with banking terminology, learn how to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner, and the training is very good

    Cons

After working here for four years I saw a big decline in quality. The focus used to be on service but, since profit margins are "more important", workload increased while pay remained the same. Customers were not given the same level of service because branches cut back on employees and aspects that used to be handled by very knowledgeable, separate departments were handed to branch level employees who would undergo a few hours of training (vs those in the previous department who had YEARS of training and expertise).

    Advice to Management

Cutting corners isn't the best way to go. It fosters disgruntled employees and many customers left the bank after the merger.
