Cons

Contractors are not provided with the same tools as permanent employees regarding the company's expecations, and excluded from town hall meetings and/or company events like BBQs, Holiday events, volunteer opportunities, etc.

I have been working at TIAA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Mission driven. People are always trying to do the "right thing" for their customers. A lot of new products and change going on. Exciting place to work.

    Cons

Pay and benefits can be on the low end of competitive. Health benefits expensive, especially for those who earn more than 100K. Strong culture of consensus, which can slow things down.

    Advice to Management

More competitive pay in comparison to the market place. Otherwise, good job.

I have been working at TIAA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Not for profit status in financial services space is rare and a plus for client focus

    Cons

Playing catch up in the market after no competition in the 403(b) space for the first 70 years. Need investments in technology and more rigor around procedures

    Advice to Management

New people aren't always the answer...
