I have been working at TJ Maxx full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Plenty of freedom with merchandising, no planograms to follow!

Cons

Pay does not match experience or workload.

Advice to Management

Contests promote favoritism, we constantly have repeat winners. Often other associates who perform at a higher level are overlooked because they choose not to run to a manager saying "Look what I did!" but go about their business doing the right thing simply because it's their job. Look for other means to inspire and acknowledge associates.

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Managers treated associates like human beings

Very accepting when it came to appearance (dreads, 2 inch plugs, facial piercings, different colored hair, etc.[I even got away with wearing patches of bands on my dress shirts])

Wear whatever you wanted, for the most part. It of course had to be work-appropriate.

Definite raise especially if you play the "game."

    Cons

TJX Rewards Card.. I personally felt terrible asking people if they would like to be enslaved by TJ.

    gossip for days

    Advice to Management

The managers at this particular location are hopefully still the same awesome managers, if they are gone, major loss. TJX cards are a burden, and it is not benefiting the associate whatsoever, just you and everyone else higher.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

THey have minimum wage at least.

    Cons

Employees can be insulting, back-stabbing, and malicious. The best thing to do is simply hold your own, and move to nearby stores. You'll eventually find a better atmosphere.
