I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Retail Experience, Probably not hard to advance if you're dedicated. The hours were not bad and the behind the scenes work is very easy.

    Cons

Minimum wage, poor training, opressive policies, department managers use hourly workers as tools and pawns to get each other fired. Customers will constantly try to cheat the system

    Advice to Management

Revise your training programs for retail associates

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They worked around my schedule (so long as I alerted them two weeks in advance). I got to practice my Spanish plenty and got good retail experience over a summer. All the managers were friendly and helpful.

    Cons

I only worked part-time as a student, so I don't know about benefits. However, it was a lot of responsibility for minimum wage--but I guess that's retail for you. We had to work register (my favorite job), keep up with our assigned sections (bringing back items, keeping the area clean), sell credit cards, and organize and tidy up after the store closed. Pretty typical, but it definitely got stressful at times. Could probably have earned more at a restaurant for the same stress levels.
