Positive Outlook

I worked at Tabor College full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Excellent benefits including up to 4 weeks of paid vacation, health and dental insurance, and matching contributions to retirement funds. Friendly co-workers and supervisors. Management engages with employees and truly cares about their concerns. Out of all the places I've worked, I enjoyed working at Tabor College the most. I only left because my wife wanted to move closer to her family.

Cons

I honestly can't think of any cons.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work!

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Tabor College full-time

    Pros

Very friendly "community" environment among faculty, staff, and students.

    Cons

Existing buildings are seriously in need of updating, remodeling, etc. to meet current student needs. College needs to cut the fat by reducing the number of majors and minors being offered (or hire the staff and faculty to suppoort what they require) and cut underperforming programs. The president needs to focus more on academics and scholarly achievement and stop adding programs willy nilly simply because they are the flavor of the month.

    Advice to Management

Leadership needs to do a better job of providing a goal-oriented environment for faculty. They need to thoroughly investigate the cost of adding new programs as well as determine long term interest in what is currently being offered.
