I worked at Tahirih Justice Center part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The experience and the good feeling of helping people in need.

    Cons

I found out a bit too late that the center is a front for converting people in need to the Baha'i faith. The overall atmosphere of the center is way too Baha'ish for comfort and I found myself several times being proselytized. Although there is no pressure but it is fairly annoying. One fellow co-worker who protested and had lengthy debates with the advocates was labelled as being "anti-Baha'i" and was laid off using a lame excuse. What I found even more disturbing was the manner in which refugees and people in need were softly induced into becoming Baha'i. A background check was performed on the applicant and based on their religious beliefs they were assigned an agent that was well learned on that religious belief system... I still long for the good memories and the sweet sensation of helping those in need but I can't be part of institutions with a hidden agenda.

    Advice to Management

Stay neutral with respect to people's religious beliefs. PLEASE.
