Disapproves of CEO

Pros

Taos attracts and has employed some of the greatest technologists in the bay area. The CEO is well connected and knows many of the C level people at many of the long time silicon valley companies.

Cons

The company is constantly changing its mind about its leaders and is always killing off ideas that just got started for the next new shiny toy. This goes for business strategies as well as its talented pool of people. The majority of long time employees are either contractors working at a cool company where TAOS just provides the paycheck or they are a person that has little desire to be in the real market and is taking the easy road.

Advice to Management

You have always had the makings of a great company. Trust in you talented managers. Even if its contrary to how its been done for years. That's what innovation is. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Show loyalty to your people not the clients.

    Pros

Taos are well known in Valley and have smart people working for them. Good consulting gigs and compensation and perks are ok if not great.

    Cons

Its a more like mom aand pop shop, few key people call the shots. No career growth unless you are STC and they are good as long as you are on project and earning for them.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting like a big company and trying to sell consultant its a great place for career growth. Try to retain your star players.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

Taos is well know in Silicon Valley. The company strives to position itself as a leader in the practices and services it offers it's client and employees. Benefits are above what most companies offer. Employees are treated fairly and well supported by internal Taos staff.

    Cons

As with any Silicon Valley consulting company, Taos can be affected by the economy in N CA. The fact that Taos is local only to the N CA area limits it's ability to grow revenue in other markets to hedge against down turns limited to N CA.

    Advice to Management

Taos is a great company with talented people. Look to grow Taos outside of Silicon Valley through strategic partnerships or by leveraging Taos' strong customer base to take Taos to the next level.
