Pros

They are positive and are always working to make the workplace a better place to be. There is always something interesting going on.

Cons

Some of the team leaders are a little crazy, and not always the nicest. If your job doesn't get completed they make you feel bad about it.

Advice to Management

To encourage your team leaders to develop their interpersonal skills so they learn how to talk to their team members and communicate more effectively.

    Doesn't Recommend
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Store discount, and I liked my peers.

    Cons

Executive Team Leads are hired directly into role out of school, no experience actually working in the positions they manage. No option for overtime. No compensation for driving sales or reaching goals outside of free food or stuffed bullseye dogs. HR execs actually act as Sales floor leads for some shifts. NOT a separate and unbiased department.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within. If you hire an exec from outside, have them train on the sales floor in team member/team lead roles first. Set them up to complete all expected tasks, paperwork and all, in a 40 hour time frame. Offer employee bonuses for sales goals met and exceeded, not free food. Separate HR from regular duties. It is NOT unbiased the way it is currently set up.

    Pros

Leadership development, and pay. Great place to be recongized and develop your problem solving skills. Big best practice company with lots of traning and performance feedback.

    Cons

Retail life is tough. You work very hard and Target always will continue to squeak more profit out of everything. Hours are long and time off is not on holidays and is hard to get if your store is not working 100%. They talk about taking care of the team, but it is a facade. You will work during blizzards, and on Thanksgiving when store is closed.

    Advice to Management

Truly embrace Fast, Fun Friendly team. There are great employees that work hourly jobs. Take care of them with actions not words.
