I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

Pros

-flexible with schedule
-employee discount and promotins
-employee appreciation days
-enjoyed working with fellow employees

Cons

-compensation and benefits could be better (see advice to management)
-many positions were cut during the recession, increasing the workload and responsibilities

Advice to Management

compensation and benefits are lacking, and I actually took a paycut to come from Wal-Mart to Target. Higher compensation/benefits could lead to long-term employees, instead of constantly cycling through them.

I worked at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most of the team members are good people, and the job is actually surprisingly fun.

    Cons

A lot of the people who are executives are both overqualified and indifferent. Excessive amounts of pretentious, almost douchey behavior from "bosses" was commonplace.

    Advice to Management

Knock the egos of the ETL's down a peg or two. Aside from them, I truly did enjoy my time at Target, but I cannot overstate how bad 75% of them are at their jobs. This store is extremely lucky that the traffic volume is so large, sales will never be low, no matter how lousy the management gets.

It isn't a glamorous place to work but it is a paycheck

    Cons

employee discount only good on cash transactions or with target card.
