I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The hours were extremely flexible which I loved. I had always worked for small town pharmacies. You could never call in sick, be absent for any reason. Target worked with you to get your shift covered.
Target employee's were very accepting and extremely friendly.

Cons

The computer software was not user friendly. A lot of wasted time. Newer software was to be installed to our store but after 2yrs it still hadn't been upgraded.
We were always short handed. I am defiantly a multi-tasker but there needed to be cashier/clerks in the pharmacy.

Advice to Management

Hiring specific cashier/clerks for the pharmacy. Target is all about efficiency, high productivity and customer care. Spreading the technicians very thin, running hundreds of prescriptions and waiting on customers made the pharmacy look very unorganized.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    10% discount on everything.
    The people there were nice.

    Cons

Don't expect to be kept on after seasonal time expires. I was told I would have a job and then a couple days before the discretionary period ended they fired me, even though there were no complaints and I didn't do anything wrong.

Cart Attendants must clean the bathrooms every hour and a half, take out the garbage, empty hangers from cash registers and dump them in the back, empty strays from registers and bring them to the customer service desk, push in carts, set up the sale ad, take out the trash, go to the back and get more bags for the cashiers, collect and refill baskets, clean up any spills, and do carry outs, as a result if the store is busy you can find yourself behind and frantic.

    Advice to Management

Either have more than one cart attendant working at a time, or divide some of the tasks among other employees as well. Also some of the gstl's need to get off their butt and work rather than just watch and complain.
