I have been working at Target full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The culture at Target is awesome. Everyone is friendly and driven. The way things are set up are for the success of the employees there. Target likes to hire from within and moving up fast is very possible.

Cons

The hours are long and it gets crazy during the fourth quarter, but that's to be expected in retail.

I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

An extensive training program. The company preaches good work/life balance and good opportunities for advancement.

    Cons

The training program couldn't answer a lot of real world situations. I would ask and my trainer would say, "ummm I guess you have to figure it out while doing it." LONG HOURS. I routinely put in 50-60 hour weeks. When I did the calculations I realized I was making less than minimum wage for the number of hours I worked. On top of that, unrealistic expectations, guilt and shaming for not meeting goals. We never had enough staff or hours. At small stores salaried managers ended up doing all of the merchandising. We barely had enough staff to cashier and clean up.
