I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Starting is at 10, which is better than minimum wage.
    You get an employee discount.
Get to meet new people all the time.

    Cons

90% of positions are 15-20 hours a week. (they lure you in by saying you'll get 30)
All shifts are 4-4.75 hours, never longer.
Employee discount is a measly 10% and cannot be used with your own card(s); only cash or a Target RedCard.
Managers treat employees as if they are unimportant and easily expendable.
Now and then if you are good at soliciting the RedCards, they will give you a water bottle. As if a 30 cent bottle is enough compensation for the $1100+ Target will earn, each year, per card.

    Advice to Management

Employees need more than 17 hours per week, at this low paychecks are often under $300. Pay for cashiers should involve commission for RedCard Sales. Cashiers should get to work 8 hours shifts. Cross-training would be nice.
