I worked at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very flexible with the scheduling and being able to take time off work when needed.

    Cons

Lack of advancment. Like alot of companies it would be great if they could pay more per hour. I was in a specialized position and felt that the pay I was recieving was not enough, for the work I put into it.

    Advice to Management

More room for advancenment within the store level.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Great coworkers and strong teamwork experience
-10% discount (with store credit card it's 15%)
    -VERY flexible hours for school

    Cons

-Lower than average pay. Expect minimum no matter what your previous experience, and do not expect high raises. (A coworker has worked there for ten years and just now made it to the 10 dollar mark.)
-High stress job with a large workload, and no matter how fast you work, it is never really fast enough
-Late nights. I have stayed past 2am many times before just to finish up work

    Advice to Management

-Do not force your workers to stay over an hour after close. Either significantly increase the pay or hire more people to get the job done. The late hours plus the low pay cause HORRIBLE morale in the store, and frankly, decrease the quality of work done. Not knowing when your shift is going to end as you're working into 1-2, and even 3 am in the morning is a terrible feeling, and one of the sole reasons why there is such a high turnover rate.
-Train ALL EMPLOYEES in the softlines department upon hire. Softlines team can easily help out hardlines/grocery, but they are unable to help softlines with zoning, foreign, etc because they havent been trained. This causes a lot of problems in my store. Make it a requirement!
