I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

The pay rate is okay. Not great.
Occasionally free food, especially during summer holidays.
Sometimes you come across some pretty good deals while you work.

Cons

Get hired for one job, but perform almost every job depending on the area you work in.
Poor communication.
Say flexible schedule but won't stick to your availability
No room for growth.
Always shorthanded.
Only 10% discount.
Poor management.
All positions are part-time despite full time listings.

Advice to Management

I would like to see some improvement in investing in your team members. Like help with furthering education in team members for possible advances within the company.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A great place to develop and learn how to manage a business. There are a lot of resources at hand, and multiple opportunities to grow. The pay is competitive with a lot of other retailers. Negotiate hard if you are offered a position.

    Cons

There is a large "leadership" team in every store. This team is full of driven, enthusiastic, young(mostly), individuals. I stress individuals as there are many different personalities that you will have to learn to work with. Everyone is very competitive even though they will stress "one team, one dream". Try to build great relationships and be the person everyone likes. Do not step on any toes or burn any bridges. People don't forget easily.

    Advice to Management

Please try to remember to reinforce achievements and hard work when you are evaluating team members who are on corrective action plans. Some of the best employees come out of corrective action.

    Pros

10% employee discount good for all merchandise
    Flexible hours
    Team-centered with a positive attitude

    Cons

The Red Card takes about a week to deduct funds from a purchase.
    Hours are based upon sales.
