I have been working at Target full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good pay and bonus programs.
Great benefits
Excellent 401k

Cons

Holiday hours are intense, temporary hires are needed during this time of year. Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint, it needs to be done each year.

Advice to Management

Don't forget we need life balance. We also have families and loved ones we need to spend time with. The pay is good but we need time to enjoy the fruits of our labor. I love this company.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Able to talk to coworkers during work
-A good flow of work, not too busy not too slow
    - You can get a lot of hours

    Cons

-Pushing the RedCard is a real pain in the butt
-ETLs and TL's are really snobby and they act like theyre a part of some elite club
-Hours are too long for one day, Ive worked up to 10 in one day
-Not enough pay for what they ask you to do
-Virtually no possibility of becoming real full time and qualifying for benefits. Theyll give you up to 39 which is really annoying
-If you dont reach your redcard conversion they will write you up every week, badger you about it several times a day, and get on your LAST nerve
-The redcard is really a great idea, but due to the lack of marketing and advertising about it, it is very difficult to sell

    Advice to Management

There is a fine line between pushing the REDCard and annoying the customers to the point that they are reluctant to return. Most of the customers at my store are regulars and they really get tired of hearing about the redcard everytime they come in especially when they just dont want it and have already expressed that. Also, badgering your employees about something you wont even adequately market and advertise to your customers is not very good for morale and probably contributes to the high turnover rate.

I worked at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If retail is your industry, Target is among the best

    Cons

Pay, benefits, management strategy were less than I expected.

    Advice to Management

ETL trainers/coaches' eligibility to serve in that capacity cannot be based on their work performance but on proven ability to mentor.
