Pros

Focus is on building team as a whole, not on individualism. Cross-training opportunities makes for a well varied and stimulating work environment. chain of leadership is well established and allows for highly functional work flow.

Cons

Electronic resources for employees are somewhat difficult to navigate. Training process can be highly beneficial, or skimmed over depending on trainer. As with any large company, miscommunication and conflicting instructions occur.

I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The work environment is decent and there are friendly people you are working with. Often times you will sub for other job titles and get experience in other areas of the store.

    Cons

The pay is low and there is not a lot of interaction with upper level employees such as ETLs. Also, new employees are often shuffled around a lot to different departments so it can be hard at first to establish a presence.

    Advice to Management

Have ETLs take more time to get to know employees and work to train new employees fully in one department before sending them off to work in another.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Scheduling flexibility, discount, 24/7 human resource line

    Cons

Pay isn't great, lately company has been very aggressive about forcing redcards on guests, even going so far as to enact punishments if you don't sell two redcards per shift.

    Advice to Management

Chill out with the redcard requirements per shift; you're annoying guests and team members alike.
