I worked at Target part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Pretty laid back work setting (except prime hours), good pay for a summer job, most customers are pleasant, team members are great and fun to work with, supervisors treat you like a human being which is nice.

Cons

Prime hours are a little hectic sometimes, WAY too much emphasis on the Target RED Card.

Advice to Management

Please consider scaling down the importance of the RED card. While working at Target, it felt like the entire company's success depended on the cashiers convincing people to get a credit/debit card with Target. The pressure of meeting the RED card quota was too much for pay of less than 10 dollars an hour. Keep doing everything else you're doing though because Target is a great place to work!

I have been working at Target part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Days can be predictable once you've experienced various scenarios. Plans can be made based on past events. Daily schedule is predictable because of that. HR can be hit or miss. I'm lucky enough that my TL's are supportive and sincere. The RED card donates to local schools and the company does lots of charity work so that's nice.

    Cons

Hours can vary based on how much the store sells. Even if you're promised a particular set of hours, it doesn't matter if sales quota isn't met the next week. They will often guilt you into working late and other team members will guilt trip you if you decide to leave on time (even if you have a valid reason).

    Advice to Management

Better supervision of team members is needed. I've found other TM's slacking off plenty of times or being rude to other members.
