Pros

Good reputation, salary is competitive to above for other retailers. Retail model of expect more pay less is sound for today and the future

Cons

There are lots of processes to keep the boat going the same direction. Lots of meetings that sometimes make it hard to stay productive

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It is a very fun and clean place to work. They reward hard work and recognize when you go above and beyond. Lots of opportunities to cross train and learn new things to keep it interesting, as well as to get the amount of hours you want.

    Cons

It is very difficult to be promoted from within, it is much easier to leave the company and get hired back as an executive than to get promoted to an executive. You will have to deal with teaching your supervisor who got hired right out of college, with no work experience, how to do their job. Retail hours. Poor benefits.

    Advice to Management

Make promoting from within common practice rather than a good slogan. you have a lot of highly qualified hard working individuals their at the team member and team leader level, let their work speak higher than an interview. Interview skills can be learned, a great work ethic is much more difficult to teach.
