I have been working at Target full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Great place to work and learn about all aspects of distribution. Will help you grow as long as you have a degree.

Cons

Can't move hirer than a trainer in distribution unless you have a four year degree, really discourages those who care about their job and what they do especially when a recent college grad comes in to tell someone that has been doing a job for 5+ years how things should work.

Advice to Management

Be more proactive in finding ways to recognize hard workers if they can not move up in the company or create a slightly different pay scale to award trainers and workers who wish to learn, rather than all workers making same pay regardless of trainer, ERT, or regular worker.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great leadership experience and the ability to lead a large team. Lots of real world experience and different activities mean a constant learning experience. Team member benefits are good. High sense of accomplishment.

    Cons

Work/life balance has taken a severe decline. High expectations when meeting company standards (never good enough even if you are meeting standards).

    Advice to Management

Return to listening to the people who work in the stores. Let them share their ideas and experiences to help improve the company and the guest experience. Find solutions other than "mySupport". Make sure that upper management (DTL and above) have all team members in their best interest and that they have personal integrity to do the "right" thing.

I have been working at Target part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Leadership, Fun and fast paced

    Cons

No room for advancement, horrible employees hired regularly

    Advice to Management

Look at people who work within the stores for higher up positions, such as managers or supervisors. Don't just make educational backgrounds the base for those decisions. A lot of time the people who work as regular team members already know A LOT, and just need the proper training.
