I worked at Target full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Definitely recommend this place as a starter job. Everyone is friendly all they care about is the guest and trying to makes them feel comfortable. They have little recognitions meetings.

    Cons

It was seasonal, so everything had to be fast pace. The slower workers would get called out if they were doing there job slow.

I have been working at Target full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure and Input to product development- if there's time. You get promoted on a pretty set timeline +/- 6 months depending how the company is doing. Generally good opportunities provided that you are very proactive about asking for what you want, and willing to jump through (small) social hoops.

    Cons

Heavy workload and not enough product exposure for someone aspiring to be an apparel or soft-goods merchant. May even have to leave a product-focused position to eventually be promoted to buyer.
