Positive Outlook

I worked at Ted Baker London part-time (More than a year)

Pros

Fantastic training scheme, brilliant staff (friendly, sociable, helpful - on the whole), great site locations - city centres and concessions, good staff discount - well paid - largely on trend.

Cons

Management styles can be wildly different - Which affects the way you work as an individual and as a team. This store is very sales focussed which can sometimes leave the customer feeling annoyed. I always found that the most important thing was to provide a good service with or without a sale. That way the customer remembers you and then remembers the brand. This, I think, Ted Baker lacks quite a bit.

Takes a while to progress in the company even if you are very good.

Advice to Management

Focus on service even if its not going to lead to a sale.

I have been working at Ted Baker London full-time

    Pros

concessions are in luxury department stores (good for CV), friendly colleagues, high staff turnover (always jobs available), employee discount

    Cons

bad management, high staff turnover (always dealing with newbies who don't know the ropes), have to pay for expensive uniform, bad pay (we are the lowest paid workers in the luxury department stores), not paid overtime (paid in holidays instead which is a hassle)

    Advice to Management

3 items of uniform should be given to full-time staff for free, 1 item should be given to part-timers, up pay packet by at least a euro an hour, stop nonsense with paying in holidays, pay bonuses in such a way that we are not taxed on them, restructure your management, organise rotas one month in advance, don't allow staff to "cover" in another store(as I have been doing for the past while)
