Supportive work environment, great onboarding and immersion planning, learning and development tools for everything you need to know as a new employee, strong sense of community, leaders value all employees. Great place to work. I didn't think a culture like this existed.
Tek has a lot of smart, passionate and caring employees with decades of experience. If you have the desire to learn new things, there are many opportunities to get involved in cool projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Tek has the feel of a smaller company (individual contributors can work and network with senior leaders) while having the support and resources of the larger Fortive conglomerate.
Cons
Just like with every company, there are good managers and bad ones. Some people are promoted into leadership positions who clearly lack any people management skills, which can negatively impact employee morale. Toxic and underperforming employees appear to get away with all their behavior and the rest have to pick up the slack. The focus on metrics can be a bit too myopic, leading to non-optimal decisions that cause more work and expense long-term. Understaffing is a perennial issue, so expect to work a fair bit of overtime and wear many hats. The product portfolio is definitely shrinking and outsourcing is frequently considered, so the future of Tek feels a bit uncertain. Other employers in the industry offer much better pay and benefits.
