Pros

Working hours are flexible.
Engineers are in general smart and competent

Cons

Poorest management in the technology sector. The company were founded by PhDs, no people management skills at all.
Brown Noses got promoted, but people who did good work don't get any recognitiosn..
No fairness in promotion. It is not worth of working hard or do a good work at TeleNav. Management frequently plays favorism to brown noses.

Advice to Management

It is useless to layoff working level people while keeping bad management.
First things first: Clean up management team, and let Go bad managers and non-performers.
Firing working level engineers should come second

    Pros

    There are some good engineers and hard working people

    Cons

    Some of the worst managers are holding very important positions at telenav. Because of the bad management, good people are leaving.

    Advice to Management

    Evaluate each manager and figure out who is qualified vs. who is not. Need a good cleaning job for the entire management team. Let go poor managers! Actively recruite good strong leadership.

    Pros

    Somewhat relaxed work place. Many people are sharing same duties so that not much work pressures.

    Cons

    Incompetent managers who are masters in playing politics. That is what keeps those managers in their positions for so long. Some poor Sr. Managers who have no managerial skills at all were given key responsibilities running important functional teams. Some people who have no basic mobile app knowledge are managing important projects which resulted in deficiencies and mis-deliverables.

    Some managers are meeting lovers with non-sense meetings all the time. There were three PJMs and three PMs (6 of usefulness people), only one QA, one dev in some meetings. The conclusion for one meeting is usually to setup the next meeting. Tasks were pushed from A person to B to C to D, then eventually deferred to someone who was not in the meeting.

    A big mess inside this company!

    Advice to Management

    Hire strong leaderships who had successful experience to manage people. Evaluate current management competency. Match people's responsibilities with their skill sets.
