Pros

Good work-life balance, great benefits and salary, and you get to work around the latest technology.

Cons

Still some elements of inefficiencies, and communication breakdowns between the many departments, although this is improving with each day.

Advice to Management

Keep up the good work!

    Approves of CEO

I have been working at Telstra full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) CEO and senior leadership team have got it right, customer satisfaction, revenue and new lines of business.
    2) Investing big numbers into future lines of business will ensure relevance.
    3) Good people with a real understanding of personal needs outside of work, flexible work hours/locations for some.
    4) Opportunity to move within the organization to try a variety of jobs outside of your box.
The brand opens doors both with customers and with future employers.

    Cons

    1) Provisioning (delivery of the promise) and after sales support is pretty unreliable and generally poor so if you're customer facing, it's hard.
    2) Billing is also pretty bad, the bills themselves (improving with T Analyst) but also the amount of billing errors that have both positive and negative impacts on the customer.
    3) Bureaucracy, forms, approvals and the general glacial pace of getting things done.
    4) Internal technology is very old, remember DOS Style command line interface? Spreasheets and webforms for most everything else.

    Advice to Management

The usual stuff - temper yes-men middle management who tell you what you want to hear with a healthy bit of feedback from customer facing employees (technical and sales). Identify the gaps and close them. Above all, don't be beholden to 'that's how it's always been done' mentality.

    Pros

Alright pay for trainee wages but noe benefits like overtime even though you always do more than 38 hour weeks

    Cons

Absolutely no OJT provided no constructive criticism or on the job performance assessments
