    I worked at Temple-Inland full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Had a great experience learning and growing in the internal audit department and learning a manufacturing setting. Company was lean and experienced.

    Cons

The company was acquired by a larger competitor so it is unknown what could have been if TIN would have acquired others, was able to exit unprofitable business lines, and avoid the acquisition.

  2. "Temple-Inland had an incredible IT department, especially considering they were a manufacturing company."

    I worked at Temple-Inland full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    -Super strong IT department
    -Good benefits including pension plan
-Able to control your own destiny
-Good mix between work and fun
-All my colleagues were really smart and wonderful people, many of whom I'm still friends with after leaving the company

    Cons

At the end budgets got really tight. All meals, travel and training were cancelled. This of course was to attract buyers, which worked as the company was sold to International Paper. Also, the performance review for employees was dreadful and a complete waste of time. But I fear this is true of most companies this size.

    Advice to Management

None, this company no longer exists. It was absorbed by International Paper. Which was upper management's plan for several years. So good job, I guess?
