I have been working at Teradyne full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There are many different parts to Teradyne these days: the core semiconductor group; smaller board test, disk drive test, and mil/aero groups; recent acquisitions that operate autonomously; and some in-house startups. If you find the one that fits your style, working there can be a blast. Current employees get preference for openings in other groups.

    Cons

The technical work is cutting edge but is so specialized that you can get stuck with skills that are difficult to transfer to another company. If you're above entry level there can be unexpected travel to other sites or other continents. Projects can be very long - years.

    Advice to Management

Try to do more than the bare minimum on facilities and benefits. Profit-sharing and ESPP are good but are not a substitute for competitive pay.
