I have been working at Terminix full-time

Pros

Lots of training. Not expected to visit office every day. Lots of autonomy. Awesome staff to work with.

Cons

Poor gas allowance compared to miles expected to drive daily in your own car. Out-dated customer management software. To many User Names and Passwords expected to be remembered for company use.

    Pros

    good company, benefits, freedom to work from home

    Cons

    Terminix business managers want to run commercial, same as residential model, it is not the same, required reporting drives counterproductive behavior and reporting

    get real residential sales activity and commercial account sales activity and sales cycle are different. Do not apply residential model,

    I worked at Terminix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Can earn a good living if on the right route. The training is excellent, cooperation among the technicians was great in the branch where I was employed.

    Cons

    There is no work / life balance at all. Technicians and front line managers work extremely long hours. Some routes are not profitable and technicians on those routes are un fairly punished for cancels and unserviced accounts. Terminix has lost focus on making the customers happy and are statistics and money hungry. The three absolutes are only followed until managers are told that they have to make sales quotas along with managing service technicians.

    Advice to Management

    No need to make suggestions. The personnel above the regional managers don't listen to the route technicians. Some have excellent ideas, just give people chance.
