I worked at Terminix full-time (More than a year)

Pros

All the other employees were great and worked well together..

Cons

Branch manager yells, uses volgar language, cusses, reminds you constantly, how you can be replaced.

Advice to Management

You need to investigate more into complaints about other management. Give the respect that you demand in return.

I worked at Terminix full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good - especially if you are a branch manager.
The education you receive about the business is great. It is very interesting to learn about various pests and termites.

    Cons

    -Unorganized
    -Inconsistent business practices
-No work/life balance - this can be especially challanging during termite season. Don't expect to take vacation during those 4-5 months.

    -Lack of diversity in management
-Talent recognition is weak - the right people don't get promoted*

    Advice to Management

While I realize you may only be as good as your leader, make sure that you treat your people well. Your people are the engine to your ship, and you are the captain. Maintain your ethical integrity - this can be a challenge especially when your numbers (sales, revenue, profit) are low. Be communicative and consistent. Walk the walk. Never pass up an opportunity to provide continuous education to your people (this applies to all levels of management, to include upper managemnt ).
*Upper management needs to do a better job of hiring and promoting the right people. Numbers can be a great indicators of success, but numbers don't tell the entire story. Do your due diligence and find our the entire story.
