Pros

Many very good, knowledgeable people work for Terracon. Peer review and interaction is encouraged.

Cons

Possibility that longterm planning is lacking or not communicated well. Trying to discourage creativity to "stream-line" report preparation.

Advice to Management

Communicate expectations initially and frequently to new hires. Local office management should keep their word.

    Pros

Company stock ownership is an opportunity to share in the company's growth.
There is a variety of work than individuals can be involved with.
    Benefits are reasonable.
The company is proactive in expanding and growing.

    Cons

My time spent at Terracon was in the Omaha office. The office manager does not like or appreciate his employees. Employees are nothing more to him than a means to generate revenue for the company. The environmental department manager will say and do anything to maintain and promote his status in the company. This management duo generates a work environment that cannot be tolerated by many. In fact, 11 employees left the Omaha office within a period of about one year.

    Advice to Management

Management at the corporate level would do the company a service to place the Omaha office under new leadership.

    Pros

Friendly coworkers, stock plan, variety of projects/rarely gets boring.

    Cons

Terrible pay. The people who make the most money for the company are the most poorly compensated of anyone who works there. Project managers don't care about what's going on at a project unless it's a big money project. Ridiculous amounts of useless paperwork.

    Advice to Management

WAY too many useless managers that stand around doing nothing all day. Fire them and split their salaries between the people who actually get the work done.
