I worked at Tesla full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

1). 11 months job after I was layoff at GM.
2). Enjoy the beautiful silicon valley

Cons

1). Due to trouble at Detroit, they treat everyone from big three as muppet, they don't respect your experience, knowledge, especially these critical expertise to ensure product reliability.
2). They truely think they can start a new auto company out of silicon valley, yet they are now running out of money and way behind schedule
3). They have no idea what is necessary to ensure the car can last 8-10 years, several incidents where the car failed miserably!

Advice to Management

1). Listen to the engineers, not the PR people, respect auto engineers and their expertise,
2). Focuson on quality, quality, and not on hype, ballyhoo and other non-sense!

I have been working at Tesla full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Mostly good work environment, good benefits, but seems to be little time for career development.

    Cons

High street and too quickly paced at times, little solid processes in place for many systems, changes too fast and cannot keep up with demand. Poor training methods for new hires.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to be more hands-on with assisting in important process changes. Should be more aware of the hard working people within the company and commend them for it.

I worked at Tesla as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cool cars, Beautiful HeadQ in Palo Alto, hip company

    Cons

Was never given the opportunity to learn anything. Rude, and disrespectful IT co-workers because you are a contractor. Manager was a joke too. Expect to work long hours and not get paid although you are hourly. no perks whatsoever unless you are satisfied with free sodas and breakfast cereal. unorganized, llot of layoffs and then new hires every week, not a consistent company.
