I worked at Tesla as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

If you're in automotive this is where you want to be
Company is really focused on the goal of all automobiles being electric

Cons

Low pay for engineer interns even with several previous internship experiences ($15/hr)

Advice to Management

Pay interns a little more, it's difficult to afford to live in the Bay area on such a low wage or provide subsidized corporate housing and ample relocation costs.

I have been working at Tesla as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Pay is just okay, but still cannot afford to live anywhere near my job for how much I get paid. The work environment is very casual and everyone is on the same floor with one another which creates an exciting and equal work environment. People are constantly walking around, socializing, problem solving, eating candy/donuts/cereal, and experimenting.

    Cons

Work is very repetitive and nothing is ever certain. Processes are always changing and management isn't always the best at training/keeping people on the same page.

    Advice to Management

Set up a training process and a way to initiate people into the company. Pushing someone head first works sometimes, but management needs to focus on what makes the workforce most efficient.

I have been working at Tesla full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunities with the company since it's growing fast and successful. Fun environment to work in

    Cons

It's who you know, not really the work/time put in at this company. A lot of favoring of certain people higher up in the company

    Advice to Management

Promote more, with a process to follow.
