I have been working at TestAmerica full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Casual work environment. Flexible schedule. PTO accrual. Teamwork.

Cons

Long hours-- it is uncommon to work a 40 hr. week. Supervisors are not formally trained in management so their leadership skills are lacking. CEO has taken away all incentives. Overworked and unperpaid. Almost impossible TAT on samples. Ridiculous backlog. Benefits are lacking. Office politics are shady. Burn out is unavoidable.

Advice to Management

Recognize that your employees are tired and stressed. Help out more. Give back incentives and form a better benifits package. Increase base pay.

I worked at TestAmerica full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Insurance benefits and some very smart lab workers

    Cons

Very unprofessional environment to work in
    Pay well below industry standards
Do not care about their employees
There are several individuals that work there will be extremely unprofessional to the point of harassment and HR paints you as a "disgruntled employee" if you mention any possible problems to them

    Advice to Management

Talk to your employees, especially the lab workers, they know things about your company that your could never learn not working in the laboratory. And look into the HR staff. They are supposed to be the most professional people in the building, not the people making harassing and unprofessional personal comments.

I have been working at TestAmerica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You will receive basic training that you can take to another job. Provides PTO and benifits but you will pay a high price for health, vision and dental. 401K now has matching at 2% if you put in 10%.

    Cons

Don't expect to move up or cross train in another department. Office politics are horrible and coworkers spy on each other. Watch your back and keep documentation of work load because you will need it.

    Advice to Management

Give raises to current employees (people recently hired with less experience are paid more than people who are training them) and give bonuses.
