I worked at Texas Health and Human Services Commission full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There is the security of working for the state of Texas. Benefits etc

    Cons

Low pay and poor morale. Cannot leave until the job is done 5pm-11pm if necessary, some weekend required. Feeling of working in a factory with low pay and usually high stress environment.

    Advice to Management

A little smile, appreciation, and flexibility go a long way in retaining employees.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Texas Health and Human Services Commission full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I would only recommend this if you had no other options.

    Cons

Unreal quotas.....required overtime without monetary compensation or comp time given to employees. Do not expect to work 8 am- 5 pm. Horrible work life balance.

    Advice to Management

You need to understand your employees needs. You can not expect your employees to work for free. There is a reason for the high turnover rates. There needs to be a more thorough evaluation done to gather employee input & management should respond to the employees' frustrations.
